Since we've launched the crowdfunding campaign to help Roxanne and other international students raise the fees they need to access legal help while they study in the UK. We're very pleased the interest in our organisation has increased. We're getting more questions than we can reply to individually. So we've made this page public. We'll regularly update this post with new questions you may send us. Thank you

What is E.B.B.?

We are a non-governmental organization (NGO)

How is EBB run?

EBB is set up, run and funded by a group of volunteers. Our volunteers are located across the globe.





Our Focus

We operate at an international level. Our activities focus on international students getting a fair education in the UK. To achieve this our interests include improving delivery of education, institutional discrimination, human rights, equality, racial discrimination, access to skills, quality of learning while on placement

I'd like to volunteer, do I have to be in London?

No, many of our volunteers are not based in London. We operate remotely, relying on emails, Skype and apps

I'm an international student, what kind of funding help can I get?

We're still a small organisation run entirely by the good will of our army of volunteers.
However, we may be able to assist you if you run into these types of issues while studying:
  • visa application is in dispute and need legal assistance to be able to finish studies
  • the course you're on is not the course you believed you paid for
  • adverse decision by the Home Office which prevents you from completing studies
  • Any other changes to policies and laws that prevent you from completing the course you enrolled on
  • university has lost accreditation and or validation; is threatened with closure or you are informed the course you have enrolled on will no longer be delivered by the university part way through studies
  • problems securing an industry placement needed as part of studies
  • problems securing additional practical or extracurricular activities:
  •                    that allows the international student to complete equally for future study or career                      opportunities
  •                    would enhance the student CV, 
  •                    allow the student to access the best study/graduate programs or career opportunities
  • Prevented from progressing to higher level of studies - eg Masters to Phd
  • University suddenly increases tuition fees
  • Student cannot meet the cost of a field trip which is part of studies
  • if you are considering leaving the UK but are concerned about loss of life or threat of loss of life due to violence, oppression, persecution, war, natural disasters or diseases such as Zika

We currently cannot meet these need or requests:

  • scholarship requests, maintenance grants or hardship bursaries
  • If you have committed a criminal offence, have been involved in criminal or terrorist activities and are now being investigated. 
  • Have finished your studies and would like funds to apply to settle in your host country
  • Have obtained your professional qualification and would like funds to apply for Tier 2 visa

Does the money go to the student?

Our fundraising program is designed to disburse the monies invoiced  directly to the nominated legal professionalEBB does not charge the student; neither deduct money from funds raised to pay for operating overheads or administrative costs for managing the crowdfunding process or to pay the legal bill on behalf of the student
